As Engineer of Record, Krest Engineers designed and helped permitted 20-ac Global Football Innovation Academy in Spring area of Harris County. The project site is located within the Willow Creek (M100-00-00) watershed and falls under the effective FEMA's 100-year floodplain, except for a small elevated area where an existing house is situated.
Krest Engineers conducted a Drainage Impact Analysis (DIA) which encompassed three main components: Willow Creek conveyance analysis, detention analysis, and cut/fill analysis. The conveyance analysis was to prevent any increase in the water surface elevation (WSE) of Willow Creek up to 500-year storm event. The detention analysis determined the required detention volume based on the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) regulations. Finally, the cut/fill analysis was done to ensure a balanced cut and fill within the 500-year floodplain.
After the DIA report was approved by HCFCD, Krest Engineers completed the civil site design and prepared the construction plan set. The civil site design included parking lot, detention basin, five (5) soccer field, storm sewer and drainage system, and platting coordination. The civil plan was approved and permitted by Harris County Engineering Department.
